From the wildlife cameras

We regularly put out cameras on the Eyot and Kidneys to monitor animal activity both in the daytime and night-time.

This helps us to build up a picture of the wildlife living on or visiting the eyot. We post a selection of the most interesting footage both here and on our Facebook page.

The cameras are usually positioned where we are hoping to get good views of a particular species (eg at a badger sett or fox hole, or on the 2 bridges) but it quite often turns out that there are sightings of something totally unexpected, like owls or even cats! We have an extensive store of footage of all sorts of species of animal – if you are interested in finding out about any particular animal please contact us. We are always looking for volunteers to help with this project. If you are interested please mail info@friendsofastonseyot.org.

It’s unusual to see any of our badgers in daylight – here’s one having an evening foray
